Broncos Coach's Insane Jordan Shoe Collection Has Players Fuming
Sean Payton, the head coach of the Denver Broncos, has been causing some envy among his new players due to his lucrative shoe deal with Jordan Brand.
He inked this deal in 2020, as reported by the Denver Post, and since then, he has been proudly flaunting his exclusive Jordan shoes during Bronco practices and around the team's facility.
Cornerback Pat Surtain II shared that Payton enjoys boasting about his footwear, humorously stating, "You haven't seen these in stores yet."
The Denver Post noted that in the upcoming season, Payton intends to sport a pair of Denver Broncos-themed Jordan shoes. These won't be his signature line but will remain exclusive and won't hit retail shelves.
Payton took on the role of Denver's head coach in January, following his stint as a FOX Sports analyst. He had previously achieved remarkable success as the coach of the New Orleans Saints, notably securing a Super Bowl victory in 2009 (Super Bowl 44).
Payton's association with Jordan Brand traces back to an interesting encounter with none other than Michael Jordan himself.
The Denver Post reported that Jordan noticed Payton wearing Jordan shoes during Saints games and extended an invitation for Payton to visit his private golf course in Jupiter, Florida.
During their meeting, the idea of Payton becoming a brand ambassador was floated by Jordan, with him expressing his observation that Payton was frequently donning Jordan 11s.
